u must get sharp erasers. cut the erasers into pieces will do.
or you can get a battery eraser. =)
a few lines is done with white ink pen, but i regret doing that.

ya that was the 1st time i use the grid method...
the pencil is too sharp and i gave too much pressure

I use a HB... Very Very Lightly, almost near invisible!
And I only do the Outline as well...
I may take your suggestion, and try a B or 2B...? ;)

did you see my latest drawing? the old dancer's portrait.
2B pencil is used and so far never damaged the paper.
i guess the paper's choice is also important.

I use the Reverse side of Daler Rowney Smooth, Not been able to get My hands on any Bristol Smooth as of yet? That's seems to be the main choice for artists on here!

mine is bristol paper, which is very smooth too
a thick one, 400+ gsm haha

You show great talent. The range of tone is excellent, and the render is very accurate! Great details! Keep drawing! :)
I also have some of my drawings where I can not find the original photographer. You are honest to try to find the photo reference and give credit, and that is respectful.
